Online counselling in British Columbia

Counselling for adults seeking clarity, steadiness, and meaningful change.

Life can become overwhelming, confusing, or simply feel stuck. I offer a grounded and collaborative space to explore anxiety, relationships, grief, life transitions, identity, and the patterns that keep repeating.

About

A human, practical, and thoughtful approach to counselling.

My name is Alexander Matveev. Many people know me as Sasha. I hold a Master of Counselling degree and provide counselling for adults across British Columbia.

My background includes crisis response, community mental health, outreach work, and counselling in diverse settings. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years in education and in roles focused on helping people move through complex life transitions.

I do not see people as problems to be fixed. I believe many struggles make sense when understood in the context of our relationships, histories, nervous systems, values, and life circumstances.

I offer counselling in both English and Russian.

Areas of focus

What we can work on together.

Counselling can be helpful when something feels too heavy to carry alone, when old patterns keep returning, or when you are ready to understand yourself more honestly.

Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm

Support for nervous system overload, rumination, pressure, burnout, and the sense of constantly bracing for what comes next.

Relationships and attachment

Exploring conflict, loneliness, boundaries, intimacy, emotional distance, and patterns that show up with partners, family, or friends.

Life transitions and identity

Work around major decisions, immigration, career changes, grief, masculinity, self-worth, and questions of meaning or direction.

Approach

Collaborative, grounded, and tailored to you.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Together we will explore what is happening, what has helped before, what no longer works, and what kind of change would actually matter in your life.
